Honors in Biology Symposium 2025

At the beginning of June, we held the 12th Annual Janet & Donald Rowley Biological Sciences Collegiate Honors Symposium at the Rubenstein Forum. Dr. Allan Drummond welcomed students on the 8th floor to setup and present their posters to faculty, friends, and family, followed by formal presentations from selected speakers - Emily Shi, Charlotte Wallsten, Liam Leeming, and Caroline Kellog.

We want to offer our sincerest congraulations to all our graduates who have earned this distinction. This symposium represented the culmination of a year of working closely with mentors, post-doctoral students, and graduate students to conduct serious research. We're very excited to see what they do next!

We also want to give special thanks to Dr. Ramanujan Hegde from the Medical Research Council (MRC) Laboratory of Molecular Biology at Cambridge, and Dr. Laura Alonso from Weill Cornell Medicine at Cornell University for serving as our keynote speakers. Both gave great insights tracing the early days of their careers and providing some closer explanations of the work they are doing now. The message at the core of both of their talks hoped to show students that you never know where your journey might take you!
